Abstract

Water is a vital element for the survival of living beings, including humans. The presence of water flow is an integral part of supporting human needs for water in various aspects of life. Humans are well aware of the urgency of water availability, both in terms of quantity and quality. However, the behavior of some humans has yet to reflect concern for this issue. This community service activity was conducted with the aim of increasing awareness, fostering concern, and building a shared commitment to the urgency of the existence of water flow. This activity was carried out in collaboration between academics from Harapan Bangsa University, Purwokerto, International Women University, Bandung, and Bangka Belitung University. The activity was conducted through socialization to street vendors who sell their wares along the water flow (drainage channels or rivers) and buyers in these locations. The socialization activity was carried out using visual media in the form of stickers with the acronym STARLA, which stands for Stiker Cinta dan Rawat Aliran Air (Love and Care for Water Flow Sticker). The results of the activity showed that 80% of respondents had previously disposed of waste in the water flow, but 100% of respondents felt concerned about the water flow. The socialization and STARLA sticker activity received a positive response from all respondents. All of them showed a desire to change their behavior to be more concerned about the cleanliness of the water flow and to commit to maintaining the water flow.
